In ye name of God, Amen:

I bequeath my soule to almighty God my maker & to Jesus Ct (Christ) my redeemer and to the Holy Ghost my Sanctifier & my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in such decent & Christian manner as to my friend shall be thought fit there to rest till my soul & body shall meet again & be joyned together at ye joyfull resurection & be made partakers of ye never fading joyes of immortality which God in mercy hath promised & prepared through ye merrits of Jesus Christ aloane to all if truly and unfeignedly repent & believe in Him.

And touching such temporall estate of Land & Chattels ye Lord hath been pleased to bestow upon me I doe order give bequeath & dispose of in manner & form following I give unto my grand daughter Anne Shepheard to her and her heirs forever four hundred and fifty acres of land adjoining to ye plantacon whereon I live & my desire is for sd plantacon (sic) whereon I now live may be & appertanie unto ye sd Anne that my grand daughter Elizabeth Shepheard may have ye lower plantacon (sic) whereon my son in law John Shepheard now liveth and should my said grand daughters Anne and Eliza. die without sones then my will is that ye land be & remaine to John the son of the said John Shepheard and likewise my will is of ye large table in the hall where I now live with ye forme chest couch cupboard joyned chaire & bed stead be & remaine as heirlooms to ye house without removall thence.

I give unto my said grand daughter Anne my great Bible a warming pane the horse mill & hand mill both upon my now dwelling plantacon a booke of markhame/a great Dutch case a (Percess?) stew pan & cover.

I give unto my grand daughter Eliz. one small bible & another booke called Dupartes.

I make my two said granddaughters my executors of this my last Will and Testament And what catle I have formerly given them & if now in joynt stock betwixt them I doe confirme and my will is that all ye rest of my estate of what kind soever wch I shall have left at my death vis (visavis) horses, mares, catle, sheep fowle & household goods & be equally divided betwixt them my said grand daughters & likewise my desire is that immediately after my death & be at age to receive enjoy & possess what I have herein given them.

I desire my good friends Mr. Henery Park, my son in law Mr. John Shepheard & Mr. Robert Watson to be overseers to this my last will & testament & that my grand-daughters Anne & Eliz. take their advise (sic) in any thing may concerne this estate that will not any waies bartered or disposed of upon account of dyet (food) or cloath (clothing) or any other pretence of accomodation whatsoever until such time as they come to be disposed of in marriage or are to set at liberty according to law to be at their own finding & providing for matrimony whereas I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 15th day of May 1683.
