16. William⁴ Tunnell (Scarburgh³, Nathaniel², Thomas¹) was born in Accomack Co., Va. July 12, 1731. William died March 1776 in nr. Lewes, Sussex Co., Del., at 44 years of age.

He married twice. He married Arelantor Howard in Worcester Co., MD, January 13, 1749/50. Arelantor died September 16, 1762 in Sussex Co., Del. He married Comfort Burton in Sussex Co., Del., November 15, 1763. Comfort died 24 Apr 1766 in Sussex Co., Del.

William Tunnell and Arelantor Howard had the following children:

27 i. Elizabeth⁵ Tunnell was born October 8, 1756. She married John Derrickson. John was born in Maryland.

28 ii. Scarborough Tunnell was born in Sussex Co., DE. November 1, 1759. Scarborough died February 1808 in Sussex Co., DE., at 48 years of age. He married Comfort Miller Tingle.

29 iii. Nehemiah Tunnell was born in Accomack Co., Va December 27, 1760. Nehemiah died December 23, 1795 in at sea/ buried in Jamaica, at 34 years of age.

30 iv. William Tunnell was born in Sussex Co., DE. 1761. William died in Beaufort Co., NC?. He married Leah Mccloud October 15, 1781.
